Endorsed by the NKF–ASN Task Force on Reassessing the Inclusion of Race in Diagnosing Kidney Disease (2021) and adopted in KDIGO CKD guidance. Requires standardised (IDMS-traceable) serum creatinine; eGFR is reported per 1.73 m² and is least reliable near normal function.
