IA1 — non-aggressive type, limited to a polyp or confined to the endometrium
IA2 — non-aggressive type, < 50% myometrial invasion, no or focal LVSI
IA3 — low-grade endometrioid, limited to the uterus and ovary (per FIGO criteria)
IB — non-aggressive type, ≥ 50% myometrial invasion, no or focal LVSI
IC — aggressive type, limited to a polyp or confined to the endometrium
IIA — non-aggressive type with cervical stromal invasion
IIB — non-aggressive type with substantial LVSI
IIC — aggressive type with any myometrial invasion

The 2023 revision is substantially different from FIGO 2009 and has generated ongoing debate about reproducibility and the role of non-anatomical factors; some centres continue to report the 2009 stage alongside it. Verify the exact sub-stage and molecular-modifier rules against the primary FIGO 2023 publication before clinical use.
