FIGO 2014 surgical–pathological staging of ovarian, fallopian tube and primary peritoneal carcinoma
Sub-stage (choose the option matching the findings)
IA — one ovary or fallopian tube; capsule intact, no surface tumour; negative washings and ascites
IB — both ovaries or fallopian tubes; otherwise as IA
IC1 — limited to ovaries/tubes, with surgical spill
IC2 — limited to ovaries/tubes, with capsule rupture before surgery or tumour on the surface
IC3 — limited to ovaries/tubes, with malignant cells in ascites or peritoneal washings
IIA — pelvic extension or implants on the uterus and/or fallopian tubes and/or ovaries
IIB — extension to other pelvic intraperitoneal tissues
IIIA1(i) — positive retroperitoneal lymph nodes only, largest metastasis ≤ 10 mm
IIIA1(ii) — positive retroperitoneal lymph nodes only, largest metastasis > 10 mm
IIIA2 — microscopic extrapelvic peritoneal involvement ± positive retroperitoneal nodes
IIIB — macroscopic peritoneal metastasis beyond the pelvis ≤ 2 cm ± positive retroperitoneal nodes
IIIC — macroscopic peritoneal metastasis beyond the pelvis > 2 cm ± positive retroperitoneal nodes (includes capsular liver/spleen involvement without parenchymal disease)
IVA — pleural effusion with positive cytology
IVB — parenchymal metastases or spread to extra-abdominal organs (including inguinal and other extra-abdominal nodes)

The FIGO 2014 stages correspond to AJCC 8th-edition TNM. Surgical staging (total hysterectomy, BSO, omentectomy, peritoneal biopsies, and lymph-node assessment) is the reference standard. Verify the exact sub-stage definitions against the primary FIGO publication before clinical use.
